About Me

About Me

Like the artist and sculptor Michelangelo who saw the large block of marble as holding the figure he wanted to sculpt, I see the inherent potential inside of you from the moment we meet. When that potential is released through the gentle process of our work together, your life begins to open to joy, ease, self-expression, and authenticity.

In counseling children, adults, couples, and families, my areas of interest include: depression, anxiety, attachment, relationships, self-esteem, shame, grief & loss, life transition, chronic stress and illness, addictions, co-dependence, spiritual issues, food and body image, and trauma recovery. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, graduated from The California School of Integral Studies (CIIS).

In teachng yoga, I have taught mindfulness meditation for over a decade, and draw on my experience and training in these psychotherapeutic approaches: transpersonal, somatic (body-centered), humanistic, and relationalThese orientations naturally combine with my study, practice, and teaching of yoga and mindfulness meditation.

I have also been trained extensively in AEDP (Accelerated Dynamic Experiential Psychotherapy), MSC (Mindful Self-Compassion), MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction), MBCT (Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy), expressive arts, sandplay therapy (sandplay.org), yoga therapy, trauma healing (Somatic Experiencing), dance/movement therapy, authentic movement, and mindful parenting (HandinHandParenting.org).

I will be happy to set up a time to explore how I can help you with a complimentary 20-minute phone consultation. It is so important for us to get a sense of one another, and together, decide if this match will galvinize your inner work.
